We understand that medical emergencies do occur outside of normal business hours and are very stressful for all parties involved. We want to be as supportive as possible but it is physically and mentally impossible to be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Most minor medical emergencies can be managed in a general practice setting but major, life threatening conditions are more likely to have a positive outcome when the patient is cared for in a facility that focuses on emergency care, equipped and staffed with personnel trained and experienced in treating such conditions.
